When creating filters, to ensure the wide applicability of the filters, we often observe the effect of the filter on test images with solid or gradient color patches. In general, we use solid color patches to check the tendency of filters. We then use gradient patches to check the filters’s effect on different color combinations and the potential impact on the image quality.
